Erie High, Class of 2023 | Gallatin College

Throughout my high school career, I have felt that I have represented what it’s like to be a good student who can balance both extracurriculars and schoolwork. I have been able to maintain a 3.5 GPA and was named to both CO All-State Choir and CO All-State Football my junior and senior years. These experiences taught me a lot about what it’s like to be an independent young man who can provide and make a difference, and have made me into the person I am today. I have loved these extracurriculars and my studies, but I have decided to go a different direction in my higher education and study the trade of HVAC through Gallatin College up at Montana State University. I really have a strong ambition to get that “college” experience but also seek a higher education in my field of interest. My parents can only help to a small degree because although they have stable jobs, my father’s medicine for his Multiple Sclerosis costs several thousands of dollars annually, on top of our medical benefits. The cost of living in Colorado, and more specifically Erie, has increased substantially in the last few years while my parents’ salary has stayed somewhat the same. With the cost of living increasing, and my father’s medical bills, they will only be able to shovel out a fraction of what I need. Collegiate Crossings stepped in at the right time and really helped my family to fully understand the process of applying for and getting into certain colleges and universities. They have been incredibly helpful in reviewing my personal essays, resumes, and applications, which makes things so much easier for my family and I to understand. I am honored to receive the Whitney Lee Scholarship from Collegiate Crossings, which is an amazing achievement that I am greatly proud of. This service has been enormously beneficial and I am excited to attend Gallatin College thanks, in part, to the help obtained from Collegiate Crossings.
