Erie High, Class of 2022 | Colorado State University

I have always had a very stable and fortunate life. Both my parents worked, I competed in competitive cheer, had good grades, and no worries about my future. After starting high school everything changed. My mom was hospitalized, had to stop working, and went on permanent disability. My dad lost his job due to Covid then had a blood clot from surgery stop his heart twice and we almost lost him. These events had a huge impact on me personally and jeopardized all my plans. For the first time in my life, I faced uncertainty. Fortunately, I had been working with Collegiate Crossings to help me get through the daunting process of college prep. When these events changed my life, Collegiate Crossings filled the gap and kept me on track as if nothing had ever happened. They were the constant while my family struggled to overcome adversity. Their guidance made all the difference in helping me to stay focused and realize my dreams of attending Colorado State University.  I am is planning on majoring in Zoology and trying out for the cheer squad.
